How to Avoid the Impact of Infinite Freezing after the Release of the Cryo Mage in Genshin Impact?

Previously, miHoYo avoided releasing an Ice Mage in order to prevent the imbalance caused by continuously freezing opponents when teamed up with Hydro Mages Now, with the release of Eula and Rosaria, two Ice Mages, how does Genshin Impact solve the issue of infinite freezing?

Frozen Reaction and Combat with the Sharknose Muddy Water Phantom Spirit

Hmmmm… Are we not supposed to challenge the Abyss anymore? In the recent floors of Abyss 12, there are always two Sharknose Muddy Water Phantom Spirits. I remember that last time, the buff on floor 12 seemed to be a +50% Hydro damage buff. Okay, so this is how we’re playing now, matching the Hydro damage buff with Hydro resistant enemies.

But that’s not the issue. Generally, when facing enemies with their own elemental abilities, it should be resolved by using a team with corresponding elements that can trigger reactions. For example, Xingqiu or the Cryo characters mentioned by the OP should be able to “freeze indefinitely.” However, the truth is, they cannot freeze them at all. The frozen reaction does exist, but the enemies break free very quickly, then send your Xingqiu flying with a single punch. Oh, by the way, while all this is happening, there’s also a team of bleeding dogs on the other side.

There’s another thing, elemental reactions do not have cooldowns, but individual skill elemental attachments do have cooldowns. Elemental attachments can be strong or weak, Cryo characters like Chongyun or Ayaka have weak attachments that can be applied frequently, while strong elemental attachments require two weak elemental reactions to be consumed. On the other hand, weak elemental attachments only require one strong elemental reaction to be consumed. So, what happens when we encounter enemies like the Muddy Water Phantom Spirit with their own elemental abilities? The elemental abilities of your characters used afterwards will directly consume the enemy’s element, regardless of strength, and there will be no residual effect. The cooldown for individual skill elemental attachments follows a timer and counter, with a timer of 2.5 seconds per attack and a counter of 3 elemental attacks per skill. In other words, after using a skill to apply an elemental attachment, if you use the same element to attack the same target after 2.5 seconds, it will apply an elemental attachment (regardless of strength). When attacking mage characters with their own elemental attachments, after applying the first elemental attachment, you need to attack three more times to apply another elemental attachment. Finally, here’s the key point, “Frozen” reaction is actually an elemental attachment, and the corresponding “Melt” reaction is as well. This might be what they call “Frozen Melt” – so you see, the more you freeze it, the more it moves. And this enemy with its own Hydro element that you think you can freeze indefinitely? It turns out it can move around quite a lot. So, what will be your choice in the end?
